“Our panel never agrees on who to hire.”
A one-minute look at independent ratings and the debrief they lead to.

Your panel never agrees on who to hire. And in the debrief, the loudest voice wins.
So start with what each person actually saw. In HireBest, every interviewer rates the candidate against the same definition of the job, on their own. Here’s Dana, up for Director of Operations. Four interviewers, four independent ratings. Three say hire. And one row stands out: David scored her a one on leading the sites through change. Open the ratings, and you see why. She’s never led a site through an automation rollout, and her plan was… general. So the debrief isn’t a contest of who sounds surest. It’s one specific question, with the evidence in front of everyone.
Every score comes with the interviewer’s reason, in their own words.

How a rating is made
- 1
Rate against the Cipher
Score each deliverable and effort on its own.
- 2
Write the rationale
Record the evidence behind every rating.
- 3
Submit independently
Ratings stay hidden until submission.
- 4
Then debrief
Compare views and discuss where people disagree.
Why the scale is forced
HireBest uses a four-point scale with no midpoint, so every rating requires a directional judgement. That is uncomfortable by design. If a rater cannot commit either way, they may not have gathered enough evidence.

Ask Henry about the evidence
Five interviews can leave hours of transcript behind one candidate. Henry summarises the interviews and ratings and answers questions grounded in what was actually said and scored.

“HireBest is a game changer. I’ve never attended an interview training class quite like this and heartily recommend it for anyone who needs to make a critical hiring decision.”

Frequently asked questions
What rating scale does HireBest use?
HireBest uses a four-point scale with no midpoint, so every rating requires a directional judgement on each part of the Cipher.
Why do interviewers submit ratings independently?
Ratings remain hidden until submission so HireBest preserves independent judgements before comparison.
Does every score need a written reason?
Yes. Each rating carries a written rationale citing the evidence the interviewer heard. That makes the decision reviewable and comparable.
What does the debrief view show?
The independent ratings from every interviewer side by side against each part of the Cipher, so the meeting starts from where people actually disagree.
Can I ask questions about what a candidate said?
Yes. Henry answers from the actual interview transcripts and ratings for that candidate, so answers are grounded in the record rather than general knowledge.
